Fischer received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in 2008.  She then attended William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she focused her legal studies on elder law and justice. She was also the first William Mitchell student to place in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys’ student writing competition, where she received fourth place honors for her paper on home and community-based programs for the elderly. Alissa graduated with honors from William Mitchell in May 2012.

Alissa grew up on a dairy farm near Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, where she spent her summers baling hay, picking rocks, and playing softball at the nearby Stark ballpark.  Alissa was thrilled to return to her hometown after being invited to practice at Hauser and Schmid, PLLP shortly after graduation. She has been practicing law in Sleepy Eye ever since.

On April 1, 2015, Alissa opened the doors to her own law practice on Main Street in Sleepy Eye. Alissa works primarily in the areas of elder law, estate planning, real estate, estate settlement/probate, and business law.  Alissa also serves as the City Attorney for the City of Sleepy Eye.
