Alissa B. Fischer received her Bachelor of Arts degree in
Political Science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in 2008. She then attended William Mitchell College of
Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she focused her legal studies on elder law
and justice. Alissa was named an Elder Justice Scholar in 2012. She was also
the first William Mitchell student to place in the National Academy of Elder
Law Attorneys’ student writing competition, where she received fourth place
honors for her paper on home and community-based programs for the elderly.
Alissa graduated with honors from William Mitchell in May 2012.
Alissa grew up on a dairy farm near Sleepy Eye, Minnesota,
where she spent her summers baling hay, picking rocks, and playing softball at
the nearby Stark ballpark. Alissa was
thrilled to return to her hometown after being invited to practice at Hauser
and Schmid, PLLP shortly after graduation. She has been practicing law in Sleepy Eye ever since.
On April 1, 2015, Alissa opened the doors to her own law
practice on Main Street in Sleepy Eye. Alissa works primarily in the areas of
elder law, estate planning, real estate, estate settlement/probate, and
business law. Alissa also serves as the City
Attorney for the City of Sleepy Eye.
